Treating Plantar Fasciitis at West Hartford Chiropractic

Treating Plantar Fasciitis at West Hartford Chiropractic

Plantar fasciitis is a common condition in runners, but it also commonly occurs in individuals that spend a lot of time on their feet walking and standing. Here at West Harford Chiropractic, our chiropractor can diagnose your foot pain and provide natural treatment options.

Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is an injury of the plantar fascia, which is located on the bottom of the foot. The ligaments span from the heel to the toes. This band of tissue helps support the arch and acts as a shock absorber for the foot. It is typically a repetitive motion injury.

Symptoms of Plantar Fascia Injuries

Symptoms of plantar fascia injuries include heel pain and stiffness. The pain can either be sharp or dull, and most individuals notice an increase in pain in the morning or after sitting for a long period of time. It can also cause burning sensations.

Treating Plantar Fascia Injuries with our Chiropractor in West Hartford

Our chiropractor in West Hartford can examine your feet to determine if you have plantar fasciitis. If you do have an injury of your plantar fascia, a treatment program will be developed to help reduce your pain and heal the injury. Common treatments for plantar fascia injuries include physical therapy, which is used to strengthen the plantar fascia ligament and the Achilles tendon, and cold laser therapy and ultrasound, which are used to promote healing while reducing inflammation. We may also recommend getting custom orthotics to help support your foot and reduce the pressure on your plantar fascia ligament and special braces that can help stretch your plantar fascia ligament while you sleep.
